Leah M. Avey

“Respect for the law and courts, integrity, and ethical conduct are the core tenets of my approach to the practice of law. I strive to treat employers and their representatives as I would want to be treated, including the efficient use of time. I work to provide practical solutions based on the law and convey useful information so that a client can make good business decisions.”

Prior to working with the firm, Leah had over 10 years of experience in the areas of Human Resources and employment benefits. Employment is key to a thriving economy and adherence to employment laws promotes an optimum workplace and the best opportunity for success. Leah’s consultation and advice on employment law issues is an everyday chance to communicate compliance, practical application of the law and to help an entity avoid lawsuits. Leah views litigation and knowledge of the processes of employment law enforcement as an opportunity to guide and walk alongside an employer to achieve the best possible result under contentious circumstances.

Leah has presented numerous times on behalf of the Oklahoma Bar Association and civic groups on Employment Law subjects. Her main practice areas include employment defense litigation, problem solving and daily consultation with employers; severance agreement drafting and review, research and writing briefs, motions and pleadings; contract, policy and procedure drafting and review, supervisor and employee training; and corporate document and contract review.
